Euthanasia at home
We understand how difficult it can be to make a decision about when is the right time to say goodbye. We offer consultations to assess quality of life, or if you have decided it is time for euthanasia, we will go through the process with you prior to the appointment.

Euthanasia
Euthanasia means to have a "good death" and we strive to make the passing of your pet as peaceful as possible. We always give a sedative injection under the skin prior to the euthanasia, so your pet can go sleepy whilst sat with you and isn't aware of the final injection. If your pet is nervous about injections we can supply medications that you can give prior to our arrival which will ease any anxiety.
Cremation or burial
We work alongside a crematorium called The Wild Wood.
They offer individual cremation with options for return of ashes.
If you have a garden you may wish to bury your pet at home, or you may wish to arrange your own choice of crematorium.
FAQs
How long does a euthanasia appointment take?
There is never any rush, and times do vary. We allow at least an hour for euthanasia appointments, but sometimes they can take longer depending on multiple factors, for example if the pet has any underlying health conditions.
Do you always use sedation first?
Yes, we always use a sedation injection prior to giving the final injection. They are always in a deep sleep and unaware of the final injection, which we believe is the kindest option.
How long does the sedation take?
The sedation goes under the skin, where they would have their vaccines. It usually takes around 10-15 minutes for the sedation to take effect but times can vary depending on each individual.
Can I stay with my pet during the whole appointment?
Yes of course. You can stay with your pet for the entire appointment. If you would like some time alone with your pet during any part, please just let us know as we can step out and give you privacy.
Also, if during any part of the appointment, you need to take a break or step away, please feel free to do so.
Will you organise the cremation?
If you would like to use The Wild Wood for cremation, then we can take your pet straight to the crematorium after the appointment. We will let you know as soon as their ashes are ready and organise a convenient time to bring them home to you.
Do you offer paw prints and hair clippings?
Yes, we offer these at no additional cost and will bring them back for you with the ashes.
